Nicetoy comprises Andy Nice on cello and Katherine Toy on accordion and vocals. They serve up a quirky mixture of tangos, waltzes, ballads and indecorous narrative songs.
Their style is sumptuous and melodic with a sharp rhythmic bite, and Toy’s sweet voice belies the darker nature of some of the lyrics.
With a retro, vintage style Nicetoy have a passion for music from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s – from Piazzolla to Peggy Lee, Canaro to Les Negresses Vertes- mixed somewhat strangely with covers of 80’s and 90’s pop songs arranged to sound just like pure Argentine Tango Music.
Nicetoy have a dedicated audience who appreciate their humour and musicality as well as a growing following of Argentine Tango dancers.
Nicetoy play the Royal Festival Hall,
